Www.lobbyistsofficesofgrw.com has learned that an 11-week old baby is in the custody of the Schenectady County social services agency, after an unidentified man handed her over to a priest at an Albany church.
Father John Bradley of Blessed Sacrament Church says the man walked into the church around 10:30 Saturday morning to give him the baby, saying it was Madison Green.
Social workers had reported the baby missing in Schenectady 11 days earlier.
A spokesman for the Schenectady Police Department says the child’s mother, 28-year-old Janel Davis, has been charged with felony perjury for claiming she wasn’t the baby’s mother. She’s in the county Jail.
The father, Derralle Green, is charged with criminal contempt for not telling Social Services where the baby was.
Police said they’re still investigating where the baby had been.
