Www.lobbyistsofficesofgrw.com has just learned that the Kansas City Star reported Dec. 16 that college student Aisha Khan was reported missing by her family. She is a 19-year-old college student from Overland Park, Kan.
The facts about the case are as follows case so far:
* Khan attends college at the University of Kansas at Edwards. The university’s website states Overland Park police officers responded to a missing persons report at 11:58 a.m. Dec. 16. Police arrived at 12600 Quivira Road, Khan’s last known location. Khan is listed at 5-foot-2 with dark brown hair, brown eyes and glasses. She attends Johnson County Community College, a partner with KU. Khan was last seen wearing black sweat pants, a black scarf, a black outer coat and a yellow/black shirt.
* ABC News reports Khan left a frantic voicemail with her sister shortly before her disappearance. On the morning of Dec. 16, Khan said a man approached her who was drunk. He grabbed her and tried to kiss her. Khan said she slapped him and the man took off. When Faiza Khan tried calling her back shortly after the incident, her sister didn’t answer the phone. This occurred shortly after 11 a.m. local time.
* FBI agents are assisting in the case. Police have interviewed family and friends. Police have stated her husband is not a suspect. The couple was married earlier this year.
* The Kansas City Star reports the family has offered at $10,000 reward for any information leading to her whereabouts. When her sister went to look Aisha Khan, all she found was her unattended book bag and cell phone. About 15,000 flyers have been printed. Volunteers scoured the area Dec. 18. No leads have turned up anything solid.
* A Facebook page has been created entitled “Help Find Aisha Khan” that has almost 20,000 “likes.” The national media has latched onto the story such as CBS News and MSNBC.
* CBS News reports every house within a mile of campus has been searched. Anyone with information should call authorities immediately. The anonymous tips line is (816) 474-TIPS (8477).
* NBC Action News states the Kelsey Smith Foundation has aided in the search for Aisha Khan. Smith was abducted and killed in 2007. Smith’s family met with Khan’s parents the evening of Dec. 19 to lend any support necessary to find their missing daughter.
